Jay Lim (b. 2000) is a Singaporean artist specializing in photography and photobooks. He is currently developing his project, "Singaporean Love/新加坡人爱," which explores his gay identity through the lens of family, relationships, and love. Through these perspectives, gayness is expressed as undertones; "Singaporean Love" exemplifies how photography can employ inscrutability as a non-pragmatic form of resistance against normative beliefs surrounding gay experiences. Jay's previous works include "Chao Ah Gua/臭阿倌" (2023 – present), a series documenting the experiences of queer Asian men and the various ways they navigate their sexuality to diversify gay narratives. This series is further expanded in "in another world/假如在另个世界" (2024), which investigates how the universality promoted by hegemonic gay narratives fails to represent the complexities of gay life in both Eastern and Western contexts. He is pursuing a BA(Hons) in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication.

His work has been exhibited at the Copeland Gallery and The Art House by Acrylicize in London, Millepiani Exhibition Space in Rome, and Senso Art Gallery in Johor Bahru.
